Old Man's Beard

A climbing plant found scrambling through hedgerow. I think the correct name for this is Clematis vitalba but maybe it is C. aristata? I think it may be referred to as traveller's joy - but perhaps that is another plant altogether?

Traveller's Joy... what I've always known it as, and what a super name it is! I don't know why it's called that, though, unless it's because it's a joy to behold.

Traveller's Joy,I agree, a much more romantic and attractive name than Old Man's Beard (which immediately conjures images of dribbly fuzz decorated with leftover dinner!)
