Small point, I think you mean tThe Wick on Skomer, not the Nick. Great photos though of a wonderful island. I was lucky to work on there, for a season, many years ago and love re-visiting.

Shame you could not get out to the Farnes, they are wonderful islands.
You are unlikely to get as close to puffins as on Skomer but you will get extremely close to other species, shag, eider, guillemot, razorbill etc. Good luck next time you try.
The Farnes are wonderful islands Graham it is a shame Geof did not make it. It was here about 4 years ago that I saw a Sandwich Tern chick grappling with a pipefish. It was the first time I had seen Pipefish and it took ages for the bird to swallow it.
