I am not at all sure this is

I am not at all sure this is O. olens. The pale and rather swollen antennae, slender form, shape of the elytra, and the reddish tinge on the 'tail' all speak against it, I think.

What size was it, and what convinced you it was this species?

Quite large I would say

Quite large I would say 25-30mm. I have seen them before and carefully studied other photos on line which appeared the same.
