Description:

Growing in a large clump under willows by a pond. This wet location fits 'damp woods' for the habitat of L. acerrimus in Marcel Bon's Mushrooms & Toadstools of Britain and NW Europe (Hodder, 1987)
Other characters that seem to fit this species are: Colour of cap, size of cap (>10cm), decurrent gills, colour of gills, white milk, white spores.
