another one looking very fierce, though not acting it, is it good or bad for my garden, feed to the fish or protect from the birds?

The long cylindrical shape looks like wireworm to me, which is the larva of a click beetle. From a gardener's perspective it's probably not a good thing, as they will eat roots of plants. From a wildlife/entomological perspective, what are plants for if not to feed insects!

I think birds will eat wireworms given the chance.
