Assuming this is a Graphomya, is it possible to say whether maculata or minor?

I suspect that this is G. maculata, as I have seen a website saying that there should be an anterior dorsal spine on the mid tibia in minor...and this seems to lack that. Does that sound right?

I agree with above, although

I agree with above, although that ad bristle (spine is too strong a description)could be obscured - it would also be below mid point if it was there.

For 'spine' read 'bristle'! Sometimes the English eludes me, but that is what I meant! I take your point about the visibility of it...and thanks for your comment, which is helpful.
