recognise the location well from my childhood days.I struggle with bees too but got a good book showing male and female,workers,colour chart called Field guide to Bumblebees of great Britain and Ireland by Mike Edwards/Martin Jenner,small book,colour photos ,handy to carry about has lots on cuckoo bees too,it has made me more confident about trying to id them.
This is Bombus pascuorum. The black hairs on the abdomen rule out the other possible carders humilis and muscorum.
