Description:

Dark purple/brown top, white gills with some yellow, white thick stem, no sign of progressive blackening, no strong smell, growing in grass near big old decidous tree.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Variable

The colour can be variable and this section of fungi is very hard to id without using chemical tests which can be purchased from the British Mycology Society.I would just say Russula species or if your really interested invest in the chemicals,I just have as I found it very frustrating as there are a lot of them about.
