Description:

Found this largish cranefly at about 830 metres near the top of Blencathra, and pleased to find that it is a mountain species, and one I'd not seen before. Only a couple of previous records for Cumbria according to the NBN map (link below).

I beat you to that - I had a

I beat you to that - I had a male at the end of June in the Cairngorms. There are very few records post-1990 even there. Difficult habitat and not too many people there to recognise them.
