birch pine woodland on peaty/sandy soil, taste mild. possibly Russula turci but worried about colour of gills.

Definitely not sickener as much too dark red and wrong habitat.

If it helps; according to guide, gills are adnexed: whitish, maturing pale ochre with pale ochre spore print.
