I work outside in a yard where several house sparrows inhabit the sheds and hedges. When the sun comes out, the sparrows' activity really increases. The males are now competing with one another in the hedges, chirrupping and chasing from bush to bush. It's wonderful to see and makes one think that spring may not be too far away.
I think this picture is the female of the species. The males are more colourful.
