I should add that I've often seen this fly, for years, particularly in gardens. Is it really called the Greenbottle fly? I'm a bit taken aback because I just call it 'Green Bottle' as a joke on account it resembles closely the bluebottle fly but is green instead of blue. I think it's very pretty.
I think it could be the one with larva that can be used to clean wounds because they never eat living flesh. There have been some medical trials in the past couple of years. The medics have had some trouble with the chemicals they have been using on wounds that will not heal.
I tried googling it with little success but you may find something.
