Description:

I have enlarged some of the photographs as much as I can and these are six of 29 that I took. The 'wings' seem to be fused as one as although I could see what appeared to be a join, it moved as one. Green feelers.

Thanks David Notton, There are a few apple trees growing on the cliff abour 400 metres from where I saw this. Are they unusual?

It's widespread but patchy in the UK where apple trees are found, occasionally becoming a pest. There is a map on the NBN, follow the link above, although as for many micros there are not so many recorders, so this may well underestimate its abundance
