Found on rotting log by my wildlife pond.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

    Bracket Fungus?? (Trametes versicolor?)
    Confidence: It's likely to be this, but I can't be certain.

Yes this is a bracket fungus,

Yes this is a bracket fungus, and there are lots of different varieties. Its really common but I always like seeing it when out for a walk. Versicolor means 'of several colours' and as you can see in the photograph there are many colours i think it is likely this is Trametes versicolor .There are many different types of bracket fungi, many which are specific to a particular host.
