Shieldbug

Also known as Forest Bug. I'd not heard of it being referred to as Red-legged Shieldbug but I guess the name rufipes refers to the legs. You learn something new every day!

Common name

Thanks for the comment Stuart. I picked up the common name in an identification leaflet from, I think, the FSC. Forest Bug would fit too, as he was at the edge of woodland.
