Family Onagraceae. Tall (up to)1.5m plant locally abundant; leaves dull green, unstalked, dentate lanceolate and like stems hairy, stems branching. Seed pods elongated, reddish, tubular shape. Flowers deep pinkish-mauve, with white centre (hence country name codlins-and-cream?), petals 4, cleft. Flo. July-early Sept.
