Elm hedge
Description:

Managed hedgerow.of about 80 metres by roadside. All trees green and healthy looking as is a tall tree on opposite side of the road. Some tall trees rise above the hedge with all dead branches.
Do elms which are regularly cut back to form a hedge less prone to Dutch elm disease? Or have I incorrectly identified them?

Does seem to slow it down but

as Elm suckers it could get it later unless it has resistance.

Dutch elm

The mainatince of hedgerows contain elm. helps stop dutch elm disease by keepin smaller branch diameters thus discouraging bark beetles which spread the disease
