Flight times.

Bombus pratorum is a double brooded bumblebee species. The earliest nests produce their new males in the first week of May or thereabouts and males can be found on and off throughout the summer, with another peak in high summer. With this particular species I have records going into mid-September, so flight times can not really be used to say if its a male or not. Better clues for this species are the amount of yellow on the head and thorax and the length of the antannae.
