With that coloration, and those stipe markings are you convinced this is not A. crocea?

No;) The volval bag colour

No;) The volval bag colour would help or a phenol reaction on the stipe.. The stipe does look quite floccose but it looks a little delicate for crocea for me but you are right it could be.

I've seen one or two very

I've seen one or two very slender A. crocea recently. May be something to do with the monsoons deserting us this season!
