The Natural History Museum manage the "NHN Species Dictionary", from which the NBN mapping system and the "Get Recommended" names are taken.
For reasons known only to themselves they have decided that the names of all the Hymenoptera and Coleoptera should have the subgenus included as part of the name, in this case Bombus (Melanobombus) lapidarius.
Both "Bombus lapidarius" and "Bombus (Melanobombus) lapidarius" are correct names for this bee, but the software behind the scenes sees them as 2 different things. "Bombus (Melanobombus) lapidarius" is the most "correct" name according to the database, so thats why the system was suggesting it with the "Get Recommended" function.
