I think you are probably right, but it is difficult to be sure of whether the spots reach the margin or not, due to the light and the wing in the way.

I do not believe that this is Scaeva pyrastri, as the spots on tergite 3 are too thick in the middle and they do seem (in spite of my caveat, above) to reach the margin of the abdomen. Also, if you take into consideration the size of the Ragwort flower, this appears to be a small specimen...it would certainly be at the lower end of the size for Scaeva. I am pretty sure it is E. corollae, but the light is bleaching the spots.
