Turning the car around in a hotel car park when we spotted this deer. It was on its own. It was the size of a medium/large dog. Think it is a Muntjac?

they are usually solitary deer, this one is a male deer, note the short antlers on long pedacles (the ridges which the antlers grow from),well spotted.

As mentioned the short antlers are an indication of this being a muntjac. However, they are difficult to see in this picture.

The most obvious way to identify muntjac is the general shape, they have short forelegs and long hindlegs.
