Yes I had already looked at the distribution but was wondering how often its found not how widespread it is i.e. is it one that often turns up at picnics or in gardens or is it one that is mainly found out in the countryside by people looking for wasps?
I'd say D.sylvestris was one of those species that turns up in pretty much every habitat and is equally at home in my garden and out in the countryside. I certainly see it far more often than species like D.saxonica or V.rufa.
