Low growing plant with three rounded leaves. Forms a carpet, mainly around the base of trees. The woodland was damp; consisting of birch with rowan, holly and hazel understory.

Nice photo of Wood-sorrel leaves, but it's ended up in the invertebrates group - I think you can edit this from your original observation.
