Fast-moving insect, about 7mm long, cream with dark brown markings, simple segmented body with forceps-like mouthparts. Seems a young larva of family like Neuroptera, most likely an Owlfly (Ascalaphidae) or perhaps Antlion (Myrmeleontidae). Fell from Walnut tree in Dordogne, France. Surroundings meadows with Knapweed, Ladies Bedstraw etc, and mixed Chestnut, Oak, Maritime Pine forest.
