This is going to be difficult to narrow down, but do you know what size or shape it was? Was it red all over?
Entomologist and biological recorder
It looked about 0.75cm and fairly round. It was flying so I don't know where the 'redness' was on him. I only caught a glimpse of him flying away, so I can't be any more precise I'm afraid.
Seven-spot Ladybirds are mostly red, are round, and are less than a centimetre long, so that might be one possibility. Difficult to be sure though!
