I saw this for the first time in several years earlier this week - good to see it again and confirm that's what it was! Curious name though.
Spikenard was a valuable Indian perfume ranked alongside Myrrh and Frankincense. Downland people used to hang it up by its roots to freshen the air - hence Poorman's or Ploughman's spikenard.
