Large gulls which come into the city to take their pickings from the local rubbish collection and small, usually weakened prey such as ducklings, ailing pidgeons or sometimes cuttle fish or fish swimming too close to the surface. The gulls are about 30 - 35 cms tall, very sociable amongst themselves and very noisy.

Afternoon shot

More than anything, it was a late afternoon shot so the light was not optimal.
But it looks to be more like your id than mine seeing where the Western Gull has its usual habitat. Also the Western Gull seems to have pink legs and feet rather than this yellow.
