Gilfach Fungus 1.JPG

I thought it was a split tennis ball left by a dog at first sight. The bigger one is about that size. The birch leaves help to give it scale. On a footpath next to a disused railway line with young birch /willow /oak woodland on one side and heathland on the other.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
