Observed: 9th August 2011 By: Fran Pickering

Found in a flower bed, where a recently (spring) removed large conifer stood. The stalk and the top of the fungi were both quite firm. The flesh on the top turned pink when scraped with a fingernail and exposed to the air. Can you identify it for me please?

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
