I am an OU student and did take advice from local Country Park rangers on the use of pitfall trapping - and the number of beetle species they had identified in their Park. But I am always prepared to learn more !
As to the identification of this beetle I arrived at it tbrough the key provided in Michael Chinery's 'A field guide to the Insects of Britain' But thank you for tne additional source.
