Description:

Found this small/medium sized bee approx 10-12mm long asleep in a geranium flower today. Not sure at all what it is (although I think it's a male)? Mainly Megachile sp. in the garden at the moment, but this isn't a Megachile...
Shaggy long pale hairs around the thorax (and on face), and there are also pale hairs on the side of the abdomen (nr the bottom). There seems to be slightly brown/black striping to the abdomen as well - which is mainly dark in colour with pale bands of hair (and golden/brown stripes). Tibia seem to be mainly dark - with the tarsus being lighter brown.
