Juvenile recently weaned. got washed up on our beach and had to taken into care. Grey Seal is the one we normally see.
No interactions present.
This seal pup was in trouble and was assessed by the British Divers Marine Life Rescue before being taken into care.
Under 'normal' circumstances a lone Grey Seal pup would have been left to its own devices. Our nearest Common Seal colony is over in Northern Ireland.
The magic of nature is all around us - we just need to learn how to see it.
Hope it survives, have you heard?
Heard today 10.viii.11 from British Divers Marine Life Rescue that the pup is doing well "at Stapeley Grange (animal sanctuary) and although it is still very small and underweight it seems to be doing ok. They are still tube feeding it with a special milk formula twice a day and it is starting to get used to chomping (not a very technical term) up fish"
