Exuvia case of Mayfly

Observed: 3rd August 2011 By: grey georgegrey george’s reputation in Invertebratesgrey george’s reputation in Invertebrates

I first noticed two of these insects on the wall yesterday morning, one below the other. I am sure they had three wisps on there rears this one now has only two. It also seems to be an empty husk. The insect is 5-6mm long in the body, 1mm max width. The wisps are 12mm long. They first appeared to be very black but seem to becoming transparent.
