Moorhen chick

This photo was taken at Swanpool in Falmouth. This is a local nature reserve and a SSSI because of the trembling sea mat, Victorella pavida (I think that's its scientific name), a type of bryozoan found in brackish waters. It is only found in this pool in the UK, although it was previously found in some docks somewhere east before being lost from that location. Anyway, the moorhen chick was shadowing its parent wherever they went. Incidentally, Swanpool is a freshwater pool that gets seawater inundation through the drainage culvert every spring high water.
