This a very destructive invasive non-native species, report locations in the New Forest to the local Wildlife Trust who are working to control it:
I used to know the area before crassula arrived but it has devastated the pond (which had many rare species of plants) and surroundings in recent years. its no longer a pond but green soup of crassula.
I am sure they know about this pond as it was such a well known location for the rare species of plants. bit of a dilemma if you try to get rid of crassula you risk killing the remaining rare plants too.
