Though I agree that they are hard to identify I was trying to give a likely identification.
& if they are in large numbers, usually around grasses and have the (& almost!) on the forewing, Im always tempted to call them S.Ambiguallis.

But I agree with Rob, it's just a guide. these grass moths are all very varied and samey!
