It looks like it could be a Common Blue but I don't know for certain. It is however a superb photograph of a gorgeous butterfly. I can never get butterflies to be so obligingly still long enough to photograph! :)

yes they are one of the faster flitterers but they do settle eventually its usually the grass that gets in the way . There where quite a few around along a railway access road mainly Male Blues and a lesser number of brown females
