C. chamaeleon recticrista

C. chamaeleon recticrista is the form found in the eastern Mediterranean and C. chamaeleon chamaeleon is found in the western Mediterranean (Spain and Portugal). However, it is disputed whether these are sufficiently different to warrant separation.
