Wasps - what sort please?

Description:

12-15mm long.
Extra photos added 25/7. Wasps which seem to be the same as these seen going into and out of a split in an old telegraph pole, about 10m away from where first photos taken. Pile of sawdust below crack, and some dead hoverflies (Episyrphus balteatus?) on top.
