Which image to show

How does iSpot decide which image to show on the main observations page if you upload several photographs to an observation.

Quite often I would like to force it to show a particular image (e.g. one of the thing in its natural environment) but the one selected may well be a detail shot of a particular creature.

For example in my observation http://ispot.org.uk/node/18682 I would like one of the pictures of the moth on the flower to show up as the main image but it chooses the 'voucher with ruler' shot and I cannot see how to change it.

should be possible soon

Hi David,

I couldn't tell you exactly how iSpot chooses the image to use at present without reviewing the code but I can say that we're working on changes to the image uploading at present and as part of this you will be able to specify which image will be used in summary views.

Hope this will help.

iSpot main image

From the postings I have made, it seems that the first image I have uploaded is the one that appears on the home page.

I second that request

I would also like to be able to select the main image.

Should now be possible

This should now be possible by editing your observation and dragging your preferred photo up to the top of the list.

Hope you find it meets your needs.
