Could this be a young snail, or just a small species?

I have seen this before and I think it is a young snail. Difficult to tell without knowing the size. This is what was posted when I found some. Garden snails lay batches of, on average, 30-40 round, whitish eggs in excavated soil. The baby snails hatch after about 3 weeks or so, and resemble miniature adults with shells already formed. The young snails eat their egg shells which are high in calcium.
