Description:

This particular butterfly caught my eye as due to the double eye spots i thought were usually the reserve of the Gatekeeper.

Unusually marked -

I've never seen one with the "Gatekeeper" marking. Maybe they hybridise!

There were certainly a lot of

There were certainly a lot of Gatekeepers about too!

Though someone else has mentioned that every now and then you seem to get small colonies of these two spotted variations cropping up.
