Hover-fly (Volucella pellucens)

This Hover-fly grows to 10-15mm. Habitat is woodland clearings and margins, often feeding at bramble blossom.
Does anyone agree?

Agreed with Id but perhaps wrongly

Might have been too hasty; with the yellow middle band and yellowy tinge to the leading edge of the wings I think it's more likely to be V. inflata.
Ideas anyone?

The magic of nature is all around us - we just need to learn how to see it.

inflata

...has orangey marks on tergite 2 and the scutellum is orange, too. This is pellucens, which can have creamy or yellowy spots, quite often.
