What is this trefoil weed found in our veg garden? It has a tiny yellow flower on a fairly tall stalk

thanks for that!
I'd like to know what causes the reddish tinge to it? Some photos show the upright yellow sorrel to have green leaves and others to have red or reddish leaves. Is it something to do with the soil?

The reddish coloration is caused by anthocyanins within the plant tissues http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthocyanin
This variety of the plant (var. rufa) always has this colouring while the usual green leaved form is var. stricta. Similarly there are both green and purple leaved forms of the Procumbent Yellow-sorrel (Oxalis corniculata).
