Long-horn Beetle - Strangalia species

Different individuals, both on flowers on woodland rides. 1st photo (on hogweed) 11 Aug, 2nd photo taken 30 July. Initially id'd both as S. maculata, but I now wonder if they are different species based on colouring of legs and also the banding on the antennae seems different.

These are both the same

These are both the same (rather variable) species - now known as Rutpela (formerly Strangalia). I've used the Common Name given by Duff(2007) in his article on Longhorn beetles in British Wildlife - which is a really useful guide to all the species found in the UK - although this might not catch on!

Thanks for the feedback, incl. the common name. I'm glad my original id's were correct! I'll see if I can track down the British Wildlife feature on longhorns.
