Hi Anne, If you take a

Hi Anne,
If you take a picture of the oak leaf with stalk attached it can be used to identify the species of oak. Quercus robur (Pedunculate oak) has very short / non existant stalks to the leaves, but long stalked acorns, whereas Quercus petraea (Sessile oak) has stalked leaves and stalkless acorns.
