Think i've seen this bird before and it's flight pattern was wrong for a Kestrel. Too lightweight for a Peregrine. Appears to have white on cheek.

Officialy a hobbies range doesn't come this far north(N.Staffs) so just pleased to see one.
It will be interesting to see the range of Hobby when the new Bird Atlas comes out. It is breeding well north of N.Staffs, I think. They are seen quite regularly in East Yorkshire, certainly.
Yes, they've been spotted before but most people in the area will think you've seen 'just' a Kestrel. Perhaps bird books need updating?
