Description:

An adult Chiffchaff (left) and an adult Willow Warbler (right). Superficially similar, but the Willow's face pattern is brighter and the supercilium is longer.

Wouldn't it help to show their legs as well?

Legs

You are right...the legs are a good feature. However, they can be surprisingly similar...I not uncommonly catch paler-legged Chiffchaffs and darker-legged Willows. Of course, the main feature to check with these two is the length that the primaries project beyond the tertials, when the wing is folded, at rest. I was just trying to show how similar the head pattern can be, but also that there are differences.

I have put pictures up before of the whole birds. Perhaps I shall add one of the legs, as you suggest. Thanks.
