We have seen Jersey tigers every summer since 2008 - numbers vary from two to half a dozen or even more. Usually they are seen after dark, flying up and down the road attracted by street lights and light from houses. I generally go out to watch them on my way up to bed. But we've occasionally disturbed them in the front garden during the day. I've never managed to photograph the astonishing red underwing from above, but it can be seen in the second photo photographed from inside t he house when it rested on a window. (This photo was taken August 2010.) I believe there is now quite a large community in South London.
